Navajo Wedding and Ceremonial Basket from the Lukachukai Region
This Basket was used and blessed by a Medicine Man during a sacred ceremony.
Navajo Ceremonial Basket also called a Navajo wedding basket in white, black and red colors, 10 pyramid, very tightly woven in the traditional manner with sumac twigs to retain such items as a corn meal porridge consisting of white corn meal symbolizing the male and yellow corn meal the female during Navajo wedding ceremonies. This basket has been used and blessed in traditional Navajo ceremony. By carefully studying the basket one can see the traces of the sacred ceremony. Note: this basket is unique.
